Matthew Raines
Music Minister

Matthew Raines has been in Music Ministry for 18 years. He was born in Galveston, TX. He currently resides in Texas City with his mother Joyce Raines and four children Gavin age 11, Bryce age 9, Kegan 7, and Kyris age 3. . Matthew graduated from College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Tx with B.S. in Administration with a concentration in Leadership. Matthew has previously studied at Hardin Simmons University and Houston Baptist University with over 126 hours in Bible and Music Education. Matthew has been teaching for 9 years; 5 years in private education and 4 in public education. Recently Matthew was choir director for 2 years and since the fall of 2010 is the Assistant Band Director for Santa Fe Junior High teaching 6-12 grades. Matthew plays Piano, Organ, Tuba, Baritone, Bass Guitar, Accordion, and sings tenor. He also teaches piano, voice, and low brass instruments with 10 students in his studio. Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and singing Southern Gospel Quartet music. Above all, his life verse he lives by is Phillipians 3:12-14. He is currently engaged to Aditra Derouchie who also sings.
